The registered office of the Society is the city of Thessaloniki at 24 Agias Sofias Street.
Purpose:
Purpose of the Society: The utilization of knowledge resulting from original research in Ophthalmology and the collaboration with Scientific Societies and scientists for the promotion of health and support people with low vision.
In particular, these purposes include:
1. Dissemination of the spirit of scientific research in the field of low vision in collaboration with medical and other scientists that can contribute to low vision support.
2. Exploitation of the scientific potentials for the production of original ideas and applications.
3. Promotion and dissemination of knowledge in our country and internationally through collaborations and publications.
4. Organization of scientific events, conferences and workshops for ophthalmologists and other scientists.
5.Recommendations to implement ethics for the application of diagnostic, therapeutic and supportive methods and research for low vision.
6. Publication of a scientific journal in English language entitled Hellenic Journal of Clinical and Experimental Research in Ophthalmology.
7. Promotion of new original therapeutic and generally supportive and diagnostic approaches.
8. Collaboration with every medical and other scientific and technological specialization on common targets for convergence of knowledge in the research and treatment of diseases that cause severe and irreversible loss of vision for the creation and application of supportive means.
9. Support and promotion of research at all levels in the field of low vision and telemedicine in Ophthalmology. For this purpose there may be established cooperation with domestic and foreign societies and companies with relative purposes.
